I still think that someone should tag me for a journal meme... ): C'mon, seriously.
Anyway, probably the most difficult art project I could ever have taken on right now I have taken on. I am doing an oil painting of a Mucha picture:
[link] It's just that this is probably my most favorite picture of his. It's not as simplistic as his other work - which I like; I like all the detail. But, this is my first experience with oil paints. I was complaining to my art teacher that my painting sucked thus far, but she told me just to have fun and that this was a learning experience. So I mumbled, "Okay..." and continued to work. Today, I am actually improving on my oil painting skills and it looks SO MUCH BETTER than it used to. It's difficult to get the correct color. Another difficulty is that the paint keeps coming off. Oil painting shouldn't come off so easily just by painting over it, but I think maybe it's just that I'm not letting the first layer dry. Today I experimented, letting layers dry, diluting the paint with this weird chemical stuff (forgot the name... you can't use water to dilute oils), and blending more. I have been utilizing the color wheel and color theory, and I am learning a lot in this class and a lot about painting. I want to get my own set of oils. They are fun, and I am liking them. <3
In a few hours (this is my break at school), I am going to present my independent project to my AP Literature class over
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. I'm afraid that I will get nervous and shake and stutter, because that's what happens when I'm nervous... and then I get embarrassed and become MORE nervous. It's a great little cycle.

But I feel pretty confident. I also hope I make sense. Past experience dictates that I can make little to no sense at times...
I have pictures to scan, but there is a mermaid picture I colored that is too big for my scanner. I'm not sure what to do. I want you guys to see it, though, because it's so colorful. And maybe you will be made happy with all the colors. (: My teacher paid me five dollars for a copy of my picture. I am very special, yes.

Don't criticize some one until you've walked a mile in their shoes. So when you do criticize you are a mile away and you have their shoes. ^^
